Muse debuted their new single ‘Survival’ on BBC Radio 1 earlier this week.

And it was announced that the single has been chosen as the official London 2012 Olympics song. It will also be the theme to all international TV coverage covering the games.

Muse fans have had to wait over three year for new material from the band. I feel it is apt for one the biggest bands in the UK today to release their new single along side the biggest event to hit Britain in recent history.

Writing about ‘Survival’, the trio said: “We are very excited to announce that a Muse song, ‘Survival’, has been selected by the London Olympic committee to be the main official song for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Matt wrote the song with the Olympics in mind. It’s about total conviction and pure determination to win.”

They continued: “The song will be played throughout the Games including when athletes enter the stadium, in the lead up to the medal ceremony and also as the theme for all international TV coverage. We are honoured that the Olympics have chosen our song to officially represent the London 2012 Olympic Games across the globe.”

September is when Muse fans can welcome the release of their new album ‘The 2nd Law’. They are set to play five shows across the UK in October including two at the O2 Arena in London on the 26th and 27th October. The track ‘Survival’ is online now! **LOVE IT**
